How do we distinguish a medium to be rarer or denser? Give reasons.

medium in which speed of light is more is a rare medium and medium in which speed of light is less a denser medium

UR ANSWER,

Rare medium has the less refractive index.
Denser medium has the more refractive index.

When light goes rare to denser it bends towards the normal but when light goes from denser to rare it move away from the normal.

EXAMPLE:-
Rare= air
Denser= glass
