heat capacity : it is the ratio of heat absorbed by a material to the change in temparature.its SI unit is Joules per kilogram Kelvin
specific heat capacity: it is the amount of heat required to raise the temparature of 1kg mass by 1 degree celsius

shalini2000: but in reasoning question how to distinguish between those???
nasari: write the same its the correct 1 dr
nasari: jst u write it as u write the differences

specific heat  is the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of 1kgsubstance  by 1 degree celcious ie Q =MCT  Where Q=quantity of heat ,M=mass  C=sp.heat capacity, and T=temperature difference. heat capacity is the ability of the heat  used to develop temperature difference between the masses
