Answer :
To find the distance travelled in a semicircular path or a circular path, we need radius or diameter of the circular path.
Now, let us take am Example to understand it perfectly.
Let the Radius of the circular path be 7 m.
Now, We know that the circumference of a circle is 2πr.
We also know that the the circumference of a circle will be the distance travel in a circular path.
Now, here if we need to find the distance in semi circular path then : 2πr/2 = πr.
Calculations :
⇒ πr
⇒ (22/7)*7
⇒ 22 m
Hence, The Total distance travelled in semicircular path is 22 m.
Additional Information :
- Distance is the total length of the path travelled by a body.
- Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the body.
- Distance is a scalar quantity.
- Displacement is a vector quantity.
- Speed is said to be the distance travelled per unit time.
- Velocity is said to be the displacement per unit time.
- Speed is a scalar quantity.
- Velocity is a vector quantity.
