Let the unbalanced forces be \(F_1\) and \(F_2\).

When the two unbalanced forces are acting in the same direction then, we will add both the forces. The resultant of the two unbalanced forces will be \(F_n_e_t\).

\(F_n_e_t = F_1 + F_2\)

When the two unbalanced forces are acting in the opposite direction then, we will subtract the smaller force from the bigger force. The resultant of the two unbalanced forces will be \(F_n_e_t\).

\(F_n_e_t = F_1 - F_2\)
