Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants and artificial photosynthesis.

Well, almost all energy on Earth comes from the sun in the end (apart from radioactivity). So we could build lots of solar panels, or grow lots of plants and burn them for energy.

The energy in coal and oil comes from the sun,
but a very long time ago – and burning more fossil fuels will make global warming worse.
