how do we know that earth is round?

It is common knowledge that the Earth is round. May be, it is because we have seen images of it taken from millions of miles away from the Earth, and from the moon. It has also been taught to us taking in examples like if the Earth had an edge, a person circumnavigating it would just fall off the edge. Right? Well, those were just to put into our heads that the planet Earth is round and not flat with edges.

We know that is formed in a complete circle but we can see only its half part due to eath's horizon and we know that horizon the point of saperation between earth surface and sky and in this way we can conclude that earth is round .
If is flat then horizon does not exist.
