Ruskin Bond's grand father was an animal lover. This was because he had his own private zoo where he used to take care his pets. He also brought Toto in house after being against of grand mother's wish to bring any more animal. He kept Toto for many days with him after of his mishievous behaviour. This all shows that Ruskin Bond's grand father was a great animal lover.

Grandfather was an animal lover because he had his private zoo where a number of pets sociably lived together - a tortoise,a pair of rabbits, a tame squirrel and goat.

Grandfather also always seemed happy with Toto's performance . the manner in which he tried to hide Toto or admire him as clever when the former shredded the narrator's school blazer shows that Grandfather liked animals.
