Answer:

We know that the size of image and object is same in plane mirror

therefore h=h'

m=h'/h

put h'=h

m=h/h

m=1

hence proved

Magnification of a Plane Mirror is + 1

  • Image produced on a plane mirror is virtual and erect i.e.,the magnification would be always positive

  • Image in a plane mirror is as the same size as the object,the magnification would be 1

Let u be the size of object and v be the size of image

\sf{m = \frac{v}{u} \ \ \ \ \ [\because "m" is +ve]} \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow \ m = \frac{u}{u}} \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow \ m = 1}

From this,we conclude that the magnification of plane mirror is + 1
