How do we only inhale oxygen why don't other components get in with the oxygen?

Of course we inhale all other components but only oxygen gets exchanged with the CO2 and thus all the components inhaled were also exhaled without any change
For example we inhale 78% of nitrogen and we exhale the same amount.

The short answer is that you inhale oxygen because you need oxygen for some biological processes. A fairly important one is the production of ATP, the energy all of our cells use. In the process, electrons are used and oxygen has a high affinity for electrons.
