How do we pass electricity through a liquid

electricity In liquids are passed my charges . the bond broke down and then they lose there electrons . then they gain the compounds

if the liquid is water.
We we should assure that liquid shouldnt be pure.
If we add some impurities like NaCl , some metal salts which defuse into ions after dossolving into water can help in passing electricity from water very easily
And if It is any ohter liquid
Then the liquid should have free ions sothe electricity can pass
