We see the objects around us when the light rays are striked on it and reflected back in our eyes.
In simple term, light causes sensation of sight (to be able to see) in our eyes.

We are able to see because light from an object can move through space and reach your eyes. Once light reaches our eyes, signals are send me o your brain and your brain deciphers the information in order to detect the appreance, location and movement of the objects we are sighting at.
