How do you appreciate Galileo’s thought of 'any moving body continues in the state only until some external force acts on it' which is a contradiction to the Aristatile’s belief of 'any moving body naturally comes to rest'.

thought of ' any moving body continues in the state only until some external force act on it. yes of course it is truth statement. let's take an example , move the ball in smooth floor . how distance covered by ball from intial point ?, write in you notebook. again move the same ball in rough floor ,now how much distance covered from initial point ?, also write in your notebook. you observed distance covered by ball in first case is larger than 2nd case. this is why ? actually in 1st case external force act against motion of ball is (e.g.,friction) lesser than 2nd case. if we success to remove friction from the floor ,the ball will continue of its motion.
hence, this experiment shows Galileo's thought is absolutely correct.
now, belief of ' any moving body naturally comes to rest. ' this is the similar statement of Galileo. or you can say that Galileo's explain Aristotle's postulate. according to Aristotle 'moving body naturally comes to rest '. it means in practical case , external force must be act on body. we can't remove frictional, gravitational etc.. practically. that's why efficiency of can't be 100% . even we didn't get efficiency 100% of any mechanical instruments. so, we can say Aristotle's postulate is also correct. but in future may be it's possible to remove external force act on body so, we can appreciate Galileo's thought.
