India is a country in which agriculture is the primary occupation. Rainfall is the main source of water but it is irregular and insufficient in some areas. Hence these areas are drought prone making irrigation a necessary technique. In irrigation water supply can also be controlled. Some methods of irrigation are surface Irrigation, sprinkler Irrigation. and drip irrigation. These systems have increased the agricultural yield of the country.
