it all depends on the X and Y chromosomes of the father .
if the zygote consists of the X chromosome of father ,it will be a girl child . But if the zygote has Y chromosome of father it will be a boy child .

Mother and Father characters get transmitted into embryo via sexual reproduction in which when sperm fuses with ovum to form Zygote. Man has two characters in chromosomes which is X and Y.
