How do you classify a given plant specimen as a monocot or dicot

Monocotyledons:-

1. It may have the flowers petals having multiple of 3.

2. It  tends to  have fibrous roots.

3. it tends to have the parallel venations of their leaves.

4. Their stems are woody.


Dicotyledons:-

1. It may have the flowers petals having the multiples of 4 or 5.

2.It tend to have tap roots.

3. It tends to have the reticulate venations.

4. Their stems are hollow and fleshy.

if the seed has 2 cotyledons then it's a dicot and if it has only 1 cotyledon then it's called momocot
