The male and the female both does not grow too large as compared to saltwater crocodiles, The freshwater crocodile has a dark brown color and has stripes on them, the teeth are not that sharp and the head is relatively smaller male commonly weight around 70 kgs and female weight around 40 kgs.
Body scales are relatively large, with wide, close-knit armored plates on the back. Rounded, pebbly scales cover the flanks and outsides of the legs.
