The coordinates of a point on the graph always be in the form (x , y)

In this case :

( __ , -10 ) is given.

Hence, y = ( - 10 )

Let us substitute the value y = - 10 in the equation 6x - y = 7

6x - (-10) = 7

6x + 10 = 7

6x = 7 - 10

6x = -3

x = -3 / 6

x = -1 / 2

Hence the pair is :

( -1/2 , - 10 )
