There are plenty of ways to form ethyl cyanide but Ethyl Isocyanide only formed when Ethyl bromide reacts with alcoholic silver cyanide . It forms Isocyanide because Compound AgCN have higher covalent character so that lone pairs comes to the nitrogen instead of carbon.
