how do you demostrate that partical of matter have spaces between them

Take some water and add salt to it.
The salt particles disappear that makes it has acquired space between the particles of water.

for this experiment we should dissolve sugar in a water. after sometime we will see that the sugar is dissolved completely in the water this shows that particles of water have spaces between them in which the sugar has been dissolved ..
