Answer:

How do you determine the amount of heat present in a body by sense of touch? Is it a reliable method? Explain.

Explanation:

  • Body temperature can be measures by sense of touching, but we can only feel if body is hot or normal. We cannot rely completely on sense of touching for examining the body temperature.
  • Studies say that we can estimate the incidence of fever by sense of touching, but with touch fever will rarely be missed.
  • Correct way to measure the body temperature is using a clinical thermometer.
  • For example when we dip our hand in hot water and after that in cold water we are always not sure to feel the temperature as we have perceived without dipped our hand in hot water at the first place. Therefore we cannot rely on sense of touching for checking body temperature or any other hot and cold things.
  • Human body is not designed to determine objective of temperature. We can only tell how it feels not what it is.

Hence we cannot determine the amount of heat present in human body and sense of touching is not reliable in this area.
