Simply anabolic process is defined as the formation of complex compound while on other hand catabolic is breaking of complex compound into simpler ones ...!!
But taking consideration of photosynthesis ..
Both anabolic and catabolic process occur if you study in higher class book u will know during respiration glucose is catabolise while the simultaneous product is anabolise into different useful products by some useful enzymes ..like alphahketoglutaric acid and many more

General anabolic process is the formation of complex.... And catabolic process is the breaking of complex like glucose both process jointly called metabolism
