It is celebrated in the memory of Lord Ram after he came from an exile of 14 years. Everyone celebrated his coming back in Ayodha by lighting diyas and that night was made a glory....Lord Ram brust Ravan and we also still now brust Ravan by burning it with crackers this also symbolises the winning of truth over evil and always the truth wins and
