How do you explain the rise of Napoleon
Answers
The effects of the French revolution were far- reaching not only for France but for the whole world. It was because of this Revolution that democracy gained encouragement and the concepts of liberty, Equality, and Fraternity became popular.
It gaves rise to Napoleon Bonaparte who became the emperor of France in 1804. Napoleon Bonaparte has been called " The child of the Revolution" . He accomplished many victories. He considered himself as a moderniser of Europe. He introduced a number of significant laws such as a uniform system of weights and measures and the protection of private property. At first, the people in the subjugated countries took Napoleon as a liberator who would bring freedom for the people. But soon his armies came to be viewed as an invading force. He entangled Europe in a long chain of wars which came to an end only when he met his fall at Waterloo in 1815.

1. France, during the reign of terror, was ruled by the Committee of Public Safety. This committee considered monopoly as a serious crime because it observed the traditional, class-based system of economics that led to the Revolution in France.
2. The members of this society wanted everyone to have equal access for the basic goods.
3. The leader of this group was Robespierre (who was also the leader of the Jacobin club).
4. The Jacobin club observed the supreme egalitarianism and persecution and assisted the Revolutionary government in France. Accordingly, mass slaughter and public violence observed during this period.
5. Ultimately, Napoleon Bonaparte put an end to this condition and the Republic. And though France had a constitution Napoleon governed as a despot.
