How one feels about the different activities one is engaged in depends upon what kind of activity that is. Activities are usually of two types-fun activities, and boring activities. Fun activities are the ones that give us joy. These activities are usually associated with leisure. Activities such as travelling to a hill station, foreign country with our beloved ones, family, friends, watching a movie, reading our favourite book, etc. Boring activities consist of activities such as studying the subject that we don’t like, too much homework, too much work, and doing anything that we don’t like.

Doing different activities has many advantages. Keeping our personal attitude to activities aside, if we look at the activities objectively, they are quite beneficial for one’s development. For example, if we talk about academic activities such as reading, writing, pondering our subject concepts, doing a project or assignments, they actually engross us, and in the process our knowledge and understanding about these concepts is enhanced and deepened, which further makes us skilled and efficient.

Similarly, extra-curricular activities such as debates, declamations, elocution, dramatics, competitions, games, sports, etc. also are quite beneficial in the holistic development of children. One must have a positive attitude to activities. The activities must be approached from the utility and practical point of view, keeping our personal views about the activities assigned to us aside. Activities are good provided our attitude is healthy and positive.
