How do you feel if your hard work doesn't result in success?

At first we definately feel frustrated. We feel that our hard work worths no value. We feel really bad.
But in my opinion hard work never goes in vain if our work is that hard.

If my hard work doesn't result in success then I will not be disappointed and will work hard more. At the first we'll really feel frustrated but I will not be disappointed. I will work hard more. I will understand by this that which kind of work is hard work to me, that is not really any hard work. But we know that hard work never goes in vain.......
