Solution:

____________________

Slope intercept form of a

line :

y = mx + c

where,

slope = m,

y-intercept = c

________________________

Here,

slope (m) = -8

and

the line passing through the point (0,9).

y = -8x+c

substitute x=0 and y = 9 in above equation, to get c.

9 = (-8)×0 + c

=> 9 = c

Therefore,

Required equation:

y = -8x + 9
