How do you find the value of a given the points (2,a), (2,3) with a distance of 10?

we know that

the distance b/w two points is

 \sqrt ({x2 - x1})^{2}  +  (y2 - y1)^{2}

 \sqrt{ ({3 - a})^{2} }  = 10 \\  ({3 - a})^{2}  = 100 \\ 9 +  {a }^{2}  - 6a = 100 \\ a =  - 7

according to me, a = 13 or -7
