We get to know because of right hand thumb rule

10abhi: by which experiment
anubhav2404: OERESTED'S experiment
10abhi: explain it
anubhav2404: a series of experiment carried by a scientist called OERESTED
anubhav2404: in the series of experiment arested kept a magnetic compass near a current carrying wire first he switched off the current and found that there was no reflection in the world on the current and deflection in the wire when he moved the wires away from the magnet the deflection decreased and when he reverse the direction of current in the world the deflection of the direction of deflection also changed thus proving that a current carrying wire produces a magnetic field around itself
10abhi: yes tq

This was prove by OERESTED'S experiment. he kept a magnetic compass near a current carrying wire and he found a little deflection in the magnetic needle this proves that there is a magnetic field around a current carrying wire as in the action of Earth's magnetic field the direction of magnetic needle is towards north south and only in the influence of other magnetic field in a defection can be found that's why it was concluded that a current carrying wire produces a magnetic field around itself
