How do you know something is liquid and not solid?

Answer:

If there is an object that has no shape, nor can we give it any shape, nor can we hold it, then we call it liquid.

for example; water,and air .

And if there is an object that we can hold and which has a shape and which we can see well, then we call it solid.

for example; (stone, paper,and etc.)

solid: Has a definite shape and volume. liquid: Has a definite volume, but take the shape of the container.
