You can understand the tense of the word either by looking at the words before it or the word itself.

For Example:

For Continuous Tense

She was waiting. ('was' which is past)

She is waiting.  ( 'is' which is present)

she will be waiting. ( 'will be' which is future)

For Simple Tense

She waited. ('ed' at the end which is past)

She waits. ( 's' which is present)

She will wait. ( 'will' which is future.)

Then there are a few words which change like

Present tense            Past tense

   eat                                   ate

    fly                                   flew

   buy                                bought

  bring                              brought

There are more. These are just a few.

Please nark as brainliest if it helps.
