Everybody has their own way or approach to deal with things . From my experiences in life so far, I have realised that over the period of time i have built up my own *self mechanism* to combat such situation. In all such events I let myself first absorb the whole emotion for example if something is bothering me so much that I feel extremely sad because of it , I absorb that feeling and let it overpower me till I break into tears.
When that's done my next step is to wipe those tears off and then look at the situation from the eye of some other person (to avoid biasness on account of emotions) . I try to find out the rationale as to why it happened. When am done with that,i get a reason and that reason is enough for me to move myself out of that Phase. Then I try to keep myself away from all the things that are likely to get me upset , I do the things that I rather love like I sing so I go for jamming with my friends or go shopping etc.
See the key is to pamper yourself so much that you don't need anyone else to fake it for you. You can only comfort yourself as you can only control your mind and body. And trust me you can do it in the most appropriate manner as you know yourself the best. Being dependent on others is always going to disappoint at some point. But that doesn't mean to cut off from the world.
