Work done = force×displacement
Any work done is calculated by calculating the amount of force used in doing that work and the displacement or the distance covered by the object, upon which the force is applied. This is the definition of work done according to physics.
So, to find out work done by a body on any object, one need to first measure the force applied and then multiply it with the displacement occurred. This will lead to the unit of force equals to joules depicted by (J).
