239 x 30

• Since ones place of 30 is zero, therefore we will consider the last digit of our answer to be 0.

• Now 239 x 3

~9 x 3 = 27 ( We would place 7 in our answer and carry over 2 on other number i.e 3)

~3 x 3 = 9 ( Since there was a carry over of 2 on 3, therefore we would add 2 to 9 = 11. Now we would place 1 in our answer and carry over 1 on other side)

~ 2 x 3 = 6 ( Since there was a carry over of 1 on 2, therefore we would add 1 to 6 = 7 and place it in our answer)

• By this the obtained digits are 717.

• Since we had to multiply 239 by 30 therefore due to step one we would simply place 0 at the end of our answer

= 7170

Hence 239 x 30 = 7170.
