How do you multiply 5-√2*5+√2?

Answer:

(5 -  \sqrt{2})(5 +\sqrt{2})

according to the identity,

(x - y)(x + y) =  {x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}

 = {5}^{2}  -  ({ \sqrt{2} })^{2}

 = 25 - 2

 = 23
