multiplying by both the sides means that you have to multiply the given no by both the values given on the left and right hand side of the equal too sign

Accordance to the given fig:

the person tells you to multiply both the sides by 75 i.e.

(x/75) = 2/15

now we need to multiply both the sides by 75, so

(x/75)*75 = (2/15)*75

we just need to take the values on both the sides and multiply. Remember u dont have to change any value to do so
