Spectrum is a group of colours. This colours are violet ,Indigo ,blue ,green ,yellow, orange, and red. Sir Isaac Newton was a first person to use glass prism for obtaining Sun's spectrum.
When light get enter in prism it get dispersed and refracted then there is a internal reflection and 7 colours form.
