Step-by-step explanation:

1) First find out \frac{2}{5} will lay in between which two numbers. So, you will have to divide 5÷2.

  • We just have to see if it comes 0•something. If it is 1•somthing, 2•something how will it work?
  • 0•something means it's between 0 and 1.
  • 1•something means between 1 and between 2.
  • 2•something means 2 and between 3.

2) Now the answer u get when you divide 5 and 2 is 0•4 it means the number is between 0 and 1 .

  • What is 1?
  • -2 is a negative number so it's not 0 and 1, it lays in between 0 and -1.

3)Draw a number line, leave space between 0 and -1 because we will have to plot the numbers.

  • We know \frac{-2}{5} will lay in between 0 and -1

4) Now see the denominator, in this question it is 5, so you will have to divide 0 and -1 (on the number) into 5 parts.

5) from 0 starts \frac{-1}{5}, \frac{-2}{5},\frac{-3}{5},\frac{-4}{5} and -1  you can take it as \frac{-5}{5} (but don't mark it)

6) We had to plot \frac{-2}{5}, we see \frac{-2}{5} marked in between 0 and -1 so mark them or circle that number, that's the answer
