Put two pieces of cotton in to opposite ends of a cylindrical tube, maybe about a meter long. One piece of cotton is soaked in concentrated hydrochloric acid which emits HCl gas. ... That white ring will be closer to the HCl side than the NH3 side, showing that the NH3 is diffusing faster than HCl.
