It depends on what kind of person you are. Lets see what the different kind of people who I know like to do in rain.

My dad - If he is outside, he will try to find a shelter, that is what most of the people in India do as they mostly have two wheeler and if he is inside, then it doesn’t matter to him at all. He only ensure everybody else in the family are also inside.

My Mother - She will make sure all clothes and other household items are inside. She, if I request, will make very delicious “nimburia” (onion and flour snacks from North India which is not very popular) with tea, this is perhaps best way to enjoy rain if you are at home.

My sister - If it is first few rain of the season, she will inform me, we then go on the terrace to get a little shower before our mother who hasn’t started preparing “nimburia” call us down.

Till I was living with my family, I enjoyed the initial rains of season by getting a shower sometimes, eating some snacks (mostly “nimburia”) and clicking photos of it. In college, rain was an official announcement for smoking in hostel balcony with friends. But now as a person living in a big city away from my family and good friends, rain trigger all the old memories which I have collected. I am glad that I have enjoyed every monsoon since I can walk being indoor as well as outdoor. I have never taken shelter if I am outdoor.

There are so many things that you can do when it rains,

Cook or ask someone to cook some crispy snacks and have it watching rain with tea/coffee

Beer

Have shower and click funny photos.

Have a walk on a clean road in your shorts.

Smoke, if you are smoker, hold your cigarette from bud else your wet hand will break it.

Try to make shelter for stray dogs if you have them in your locality before monsoon.

Donate old rain coats, to rickshaw puller, homeless people.

Play football or cricket or any other game in a muddy but clean ground.
