7y + 2(y - 2) = 6(y + 1) - 3
7y + 2y - 4 = 6y + 6 - 3
9y - 6y - 4 = 6 - 3
3y - 4 = 3
3y = 3 + 4
3y = 7
y =
Here, whenever you received any such types of problem which says "to solve", it means that you've to find the value of y or any respective variable which are stated in the question.
In the first step, I've rewritten the question with space so, it's more understandable.
In step 2, I've multiplied the brackets. Here, we've to multiply the number which is outside the bracket with all the terms.
In step 3, I've just taken all the terms with variables to L.H.S.
In step 4, I've just added by taking - 4 to R.H.S which will turn into +4.
Then we'll get y =
7y + 2y - 4 = 6y + 6 - 3
9y - 6y - 4 = 6 - 3
3y - 4 = 3
3y = 3 + 4
3y = 7
y =
