- 9(r + 5) = -4r - 10

-9r - 45 = -4r -10

- 9r + 4r = -10 + 45

- 5 r = 35

-r = 7

r = - 7

L.H.S:-

-9 (r+5)

= (-9×r) +(-9×5)

= -9r+(-45)

=-9r-45

R.H.S:-..

-4r-10

Now, we have:

-9r-45=-4r-10

Transposing - 4r to the left hand side and-45 to the right hand side, we have:

-9r+4r= -10+45.

-5r=35

r= 35/-5

r = - \frac{35}{5}

r= -7
