x = 4 - 2y

=> x + 2y = 4 ------------ (1)

2x - 3y = - 13 ------------(2)

(1) ×2 => 2x + 4y= 8. -----------(3)

(2) -- (3) => 2x -3y - 2x - 4y = -13-8

=>. - 7y= - 21

=> 7y = 21

=> y = 3

putting the value of y= 3 in eq. no. (1)

x + 2× 3= 4

=> x + 6 = 4

=> x= 4- 6

= -2

therefore ,

required x = -2

y = 3
