How do you solve the system 2x+y=2 and x−y=10?

x-y=10

x=10-y.... (1)

2x+y=2....(2)

substituting (1) in (2)

2(10-y) +y=2

20-2y+y=2

y=18

x=10-y

x=10-18

x=-8
