x-2y=3 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: 4x - 8y = 12 \\ x = 3 + 2y \\ 4x - 8y = 12 \\ 4(3 + 2y) - 8y = 12 \\ 12 + 8y - 8y = 12 \\ = 0
