How do you solve this A father is 9 times the age of his son In 5 years he will be 4 times the age of his son How old are they now?

Let, Age of father=y

      Age of son=x

According to question,

y=9x......(i)

After 5 years,

(y+5)=4(x+5)......(ii)

By substituting value of y=9x in (ii), we get

9x+5=4x+20

5x=15

x=5

Now substituting value of x=5 in (i),we get

y=9*5

y=45

Hence, Age of father=45 years

            Age of son=5 years
