How do you solve x+6y=28 and 2x−3y=−19?

by substitution method,

x+6y=28......(1)

2x-3y=-19......(2)

x=28-6y

put (x) in (2)

2.(28-6y)-3y=-19

56-12y-3y=-19

-15y=-75

y=5

put (y)in(1)

x+6(5)=28

x+30=28

x=28-30

x=-2

x+6y=28

=2x+12y=56 ----- (1)

2x-3y=-19 -------- (2)

(1) - (2) = 15y = 75

= y = 5

and,

from eq^n (2)

2x - 15 = - 19

= 2x = - 4

= x = - 2

ans:- x= - 2 and y = 5
