x=4+y from 1st equation .

put it in 2nd equation

y=(4+y)^2-34

y^2-34+16+8y-y=0

y^2+7y-18=0

find y .then find x

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x-y=4........(1)

So,y=x2-34........(2)

(2) in (1),

x-(x2-34)=4

x-x2+34-4=x2-x-30

x2-x-30=x2-6x+5x-30=x(x-6)+5(x-6)=(x-6)(x+5).

Now,x=6 or x=-5

So,the value of x=6.

From (1),

x-y=4

6-y=4

y=6-4 =2

The value of y =2.
