How do you solve x+y=−7 and 3x+y=−9?

y = -6

its simple

first write these in this form

x+y =-7........... (1)

3x+y=-9........... (2)

now subtract (1) and (2)

x+y =-7

3x+y=-9

- - -

= -2x = 2

= x =-1

put this value in (1) or (2)

you will get y =-6
