How do you tell someone a secret without being overheard?

If I want to tell a secret thing to someone without being overheard, then I might try to talk to that person in seclusion.

Or I might speak the stuff into his / her ear.

The best way I feel is to convey the secret message to that particular person through writing, so that there is no chance of overhearing.
