How do you tell whether the ordered pair (2,5) is a solution to y>2x,y≥x+2?

We just substitute the values of x and y in both the equations,

Put x=2,y=5 in y>2x:

5>2*2

or, 5>4.

As we can see this is true because 5>4.

Now put x=2, y=5 in y>=x+2:

5>=2+2

or 5>= 4, which is also true.

Since the ordered pair (2,5) satisfies both the conditions, it is a solution to the given system of inequalities.
